A uniform ME 4012 PA system structure ensures compatibility between the different hardware designs (rack design, compact design, field unit design and DIN rail design). The ME 4012 PA is thus onehundred-percent consistent.
ME 4012 PA-S/-R (Rack assembly)
The ME 4012 PA-S processing module is capable of processing up to 4 subracks containing 21 I/O modules each. If the system needs to be expanded, an additional processing module can be connected via the Ethernet system bus based on IEC 60870-5-104. Binary and analog I/O modules are available for the connection to the process. Please refer to the corresponding technical data sheets for details such as EMC acc. to DIN EN and the electrical characteristics. So-called proxy modules are available to connect process signals from remote sources. The modules communicate over fiber optic lines and can bridge distances of up to 500 m. It is also possible to connect ME 4012 PAC, ME 4012 PA-H and ME 4012 PA-F devices to the existing system bus. Network control centers or feeder stations are connected via the ME 4012 PA-C processing module. The module can be equipped with up to 5 serial interfaces.
