ME 8012 MG medium-voltage field
The ME 8012 MG medium-voltage field units monitor and control distributed switching sections on the field level of medium-voltage distribution networks, and transmit process data to the higher-level control station. Data is exchanged through fiber optics or RS 485 interfaces in accordance with the IEC 60870-5-103 standard. Data transmission through Profibus SN can be implemented as an option.
Fields of Application and Characteristics
Due to their high degree of electromagnetic compatibility, rugged design and wide range of operating temperatures, the ME 8012 MG field units are optimally adapted to the rough operating conditions in field-level control cabinets. Rear terminals connect the devices to the process. Their modular design allows optimal adjustment of each field unit to the functional scope of the specific switching section. A field unit with maximum capacity is capable of processing double commands for 17 switching devices, 64 message inputs and 7 direct measuring inputs for signals coming from current and voltage transducers.
